I can't believe it is Spring already! I spent the whole weekend at Home Depot and Lowe's picking out my flowers for this year. My house looks like a pit, but the yard looks so beautiful now! Let me tell you what Drew did over his weekend, on Saturday my mom and I took Drew to Home Depot to visit daddy, and to drool over all the new plants. Drew was a little angel, even though he missed his nap! We took him to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and then watched him play with all the "big kids." Mom and I had so much fun, I even talked her into buying a Bradford Pear Tree for her back yard. Drew, mom and I spent the rest of the day getting filthy in her backyard. Oh, and of course we went to the Goodwill first thing on Saturday morning. I found a few (20) new outfits for my "gently used" children's clothing business. Speaking of that, I hope to have the website up on May 1 st. That may be a little too soon, but it is my goal. I almost have my business plan complete, and the WebPage and software has been purchased. I have also been inventorying all the clothing - it is taking a long time and I can only do about 20 items a night before a headache comes on from squinting so much.

Drew learned a few new things this week. He started to break dance with his head, crawl backwards, and run into mommy's arms and plant a big wet kiss right on her mouth! We are still working on please and thank you, but he is trying a little more to say them in context. Drew still loves to play outside and is already getting a tan from being outside too often. Drew loves to play with sticks and just about anything that is big and awkward to carry. John and I have been working on teaching Drew to fold his hands and pray with us before we eat dinner. This week he finally realized that the hand motion is quite similar to clapping, so now he sometimes claps through our dinnertime prayer. It is really cute!

John is as busy as ever, working and going to school. However, despite his hectic schedule he and Drew were able to clean up the garage this week and add another shelf to my shed in the backyard. Now all my gardening tools and supplies fit nicely in the shed! I really appreciate all his hard work in building me a gardening shed, It is so nice to have everything in one place.

I hope this week your home is filled with Love, Joy and Peace!

Love,
Melissa

As you can see I have been learning new and exciting web page features. I really am enjoying learning new and fun designs. Who knew a simple little web page would launch me into an online business. Drewscloset.com is still in the process of being set up. I am supposed to meet with the web page designer this week. Hopefully, with the little I know about web pages I can maintain everything myself once it is up and running. My plan to be up and running by May 1 st probably isn't going to happen. John is finished with his finals this week, so hopefully he will be able to help me out a little. I have most of the clothes inventoried; John is going to help me with the pictures. I do have my e-mail set up, so please feel free to send messages to Melissa@drewscloset.com!

This weekend Mom and I are going to drive to Oklahoma for Julie's wedding shower. I am looking forward to a nice break from the normal routine. Drew is still cutting teeth and has been very active this week. We spent today in the garden planting my Cascading Petunias. I hope they grow to look like their picture! Today John had the day off, so he took Drew to Cabbella's. Drew was able to see the giant elephant and the fish.

I weighed Drew today, he is a whopping 24 pounds!

John bought be Pilate's a few months ago, I have really been enjoying the Ab workout. I am very excited to have lost over 10 pounds. Who knew a 20 minute workout 3 times a week could be so motivating. I also started meeting with a sweet lady from church named Julie. She is a wonderful older women who helps younger women like myself with life issues. We meet once a week and are doing a study called 24 Healthy Habits for Families. I am so excited to have someone to hold me accountable! I have been mentoring someone for 2 years, but have been praying for a mentor for myself. Julie is a huge answer to my prayers. The Lord is doing some wonderful things in our home and community!

John and I are anxiously awaiting our weekend away at the Family Life Marriage Conference. We are staying at the nicest hotel in the metroplex - the Gaylord Texan! My mom is watching Drew all weekend, it will be my first weekend away from Drew, but I think I will handle it just fine!

I can't believe what I found today! Drew has been cranky because he had 4 back bottom molars come through last week. Today his top left molar has popped through. The poor little man! I couldn't believe that he had a mouth full of teeth - I was expecting the front bottom ones to come in first. Oops! I gave Drew Tylenol today and he was so much better.
Oh, some people have been asking about garden pictures, so I attached a few pictures I took of the house yesterday. You can see I have put John's flower beds to good use. I still have a few more roses and Vinca to put in, but for the most part everything has been planted!

It is Spring! The Williams have been gardening again this week; we just can't stop planting. John is now building me flower beds in the back yard for my garden. We have had a temporary house guest, a lab puppy, who decided that all my plants needed to be uprooted. I spent much of Sunday replanting my garden. I have determined that I do NOT want a dog. I really can't believe I am saying that after all these years. No one who knows me would every think to hear those words come out of my mouth. I have cleaned up too many messes for one week!
John also worked on the shed again this weekend. I cleaned out the shed and marveled at how many gardening products I have. I also spent some time planting my "Vinca" in the front yard, and adding an organic moisturizing mulch to my flower beds. I can't believe how clean the flower beds look with the new mulch. I started to plant watermelon and corn via seeds this past week, I am anxious to see if they will actually grow. My strawberry's are already sending me juicey berries and my tomatoes are right behind. I learned a valuable lesson on the necessity for hard soled shoes while working with John in the garage. We were clamping down some wood for the back flower beds when the metal sea clamp fell off and landed right on my bare toe. Ouch! I will not wear sandals any more when working with heavy tools.
"Ti Ti" Julie and Ruben came to visit for the three day weekend. We all had so much fun dying eggs and watching King Kong . John had fun teaching us how to "properly" dye eggs by blowing out the insides and then dyeing them with food coloring. Drew thought the eggs were neat too. He picked one up and threw is on the tile floor. thinking it was a ball. He then proceeded to pick it up and put the shell in his mouth. We gave him a plastic egg to play with after that. We all went to church on Saturday night and enjoyed worshiping together. Drew loved playing in the nursery, however, when we went to pick him up he got so excited that he tripped and split his lip open. He did this just in time for the family Easter pictures. That night we went back to Nana's house for a wonderful Easter dinner of ham, potatoes, salads, and angel food cake.
John is doing great in school, he has straight A's this term. He is anxious for October to come so he can play more in the garage and with Drew. John also stepped up and did a lot of the household chores around the house for me. I had a slight meltdown feeling totally overwhelmed with life, so John took over. What a loving husband! It was so nice to know that there is a handsome hunk there to pick me up when I fall down!
We spend a few evenings this week catching up with friends. We had the Tyson's over for dinner tonight, and our neighbors over on Friday night. Drew loved all the extra attention. He has not been getting to bed at his usual 7:00 bedtime due to dinners out, and visiting with family. I realized this morning the huge stress it is on Drew when his routine is not kept. The poor dear woke up this morning at 11:30 am . I couldn't believe it. He combined his nighttime sleep with his morning nap and almost slept in until noon . He then proceeded to take a 2 1/2 hour afternoon nap from 2-4:30!
This evening we all went for a family walk enjoying our cool evening, Drew had fun putting his Popsicle in daddy's ear! It was so funny, Drew was riding on Daddy's shoulders, he would take a lick and then stick the end in John's ear. By the time we were done John's shirt, face and hair were covered in red Popsicle!

April 10, 2006
Drew is running everywhere! He rushes from one activity to another jabbering as he goes. I can't believe how busy he is! I guess that is why he sleeps from 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM (or even 9:00 AM sometimes), and naps for a few hours in the afternoon. Drew is just starting to feed himself with a spoon and fork. I think it would be a little easier on him if he would pick a hand! Drew makes a horrible mess, but has a lot of fun! He is so proud of himself when he gets a bite into his mouth. Today he actually gave me the spoon so I could feed him his oatmeal, he was really hungry!
Drew isn't speaking words very much, he loves to yell though. He loves his bedtime routine, especially the hugs and kisses. He also loves to play peek-a-boo with me in the bathtub. Drew pulls the shower curtain across the bathtub and then peeks his head around trying to trick me. He also loves to get wet in the hose while I am gardening. I normally water in the evening right before his bath. Today I was chasing him over the front yard with the hose, he was giggling and laughing hysterically. Drew actually walked down the block to Uncle David's house and back today. He was so tired!
This weekend we all went to Southlake Town Center for their grand opening. We played in the fountain and ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Drew loved sitting outside and watching all the people.
We are all looking forward to Easter and dying eggs! I am trying to convince John that we should get Drew a baby rabbit for Easter, but so far he isn't buying it.... literally! We are excited for Julie and Ruben to come this week and spend some time visiting. Julie is in her last semester of college and is in the middle of a very tough clinical. Drew is very anxious to see his "ti ti."
It is Easter! We pray everyone reflects on the reason why Easter is so amazing.; the day of our Savior's Resurrection; He overcame death so that those who believe in Him will have their sins forgiven and live forever in heaven! Praise the Lord, He's alive! We hope everyone has a joyful and worship filled celebration of the Lord's resurrection.
He is not here: for He is risen ...

April 4, 2006
This week was full of excitement! On Friday & Saturday I went with my friend Shannon to a parenting conference at Irving Bible Church. The class was great and really reinforced the way John and I are already parenting little Drew. This seminar was teaching on heart issues in children. The class was designed to discover the real reason behind the defiance, instead of punishing to change behavior. It also addressed the necessity for consistency and routine. After the seminar we took the kids to Chick-Fil-A to eat and of course play. Drew had so much fun running all over and playing with the big kid! That evening we all went to church and then home for some relaxation.
John had to work on Sunday, but we met him at Southlake Town Center! We drank Jamba Juice and played in the town square. Drew played soccer with some children and fell over at least 20 times. He is running everywhere these days and has a lot of bumps and bruises!
Drew discovered his voice this week - he has also discovered that he can yell! He thinks that the louder he talks the better! The past few nights I have had a headache from all the noise. His favorite thing to do is run around the house yelling "da-da-da" or "ma-ma-ma" or "na-na-na!" He thinks if he yells "da-da" at the garage door that his daddy will magically appear!
Drew has been helping me garden this week, he loves to carry my spade around and dig in the dirt. He is spending a ton of time in the backyard, so of course I convinced John to build me some planting beds in the back yard. Actually, John is going to teach me so I can make them myself, since he is so busy! I determined that I needed more space when my green bean plants started to pop up. I started them from seed, and silly me thought that one package was perfect for the small area in my backyard. What I didn't realize was that all 50 seeds I planted were going to pop up! I really don't know what I was thinking! I am giving beans away to neighbors and friends, and still have way too many!
